Attention All Dog Lovers

Attention all dog lovers- summer may be coming to end, but that does not mean activities with your fur babies must come to an end as well. Maryland offers a surplus of events and activities that both you and your pup will love.

DOG PARKS:

Check out your town’s closest dog park. Dog parks are a great way for your dogs to socialize and get all of their energy out. A happy and healthy dog is one that has the opportunity to run, play, and get lots of fresh air! To those in the Annapolis area, Quiet Waters and Broadneck Park both offer dog parks. Find your nearest dog park today! Check out our lists of popular dog parks in your county.

DOG BEACHES:

Dog beaches are similar to parks, but with water and a beautiful view. While winter is still a few months away, allow your pup to get a few last dips in the water. Bring his favorite toy or grab a stick and watch your dog have a great time. You can also turn this outing into a date night. All you need is a picnic blanket and some snacks! Enjoy the sunset while giving you and your dog a much needed outing. Kent island offers Terrapin Nature Walk & Matapeake State Park. Don’t worry if you do not want to cross the bay bridge because you can find more dog beaches in Annapolis, Pasadena, and Edgewater!

DOG FRIENDLY RESTAURANTS:

Just because you have lunch plans, does not mean that your dog is automatically excluded! There are various great restaurants and allow your pups to join. Enjoy a night out with friends, all while your dog is able to enjoy with you. More places than you think are dog friendly! Popular restaurants include The Jetty, Rams Head Tavern, Hemingway’s, and more! Federal House in Annapolis is also dog friendly and offers a separate dog menu!

WORKING OUT:

Get in shape while including your fur baby! You can run with your dog either in your neighborhood or a nearby trail. If you are not a runner, you can ride a bike, roller skate, or skateboard all while your dog runs beside you. If your dog loves to run, he or she will be the best workout partner by always encouraging you to go again. Accountability is important, and your pup will help you stick to your workout schedule.

DOG FRIENDLY HOTELS:

Going out of town but feel guilty about leaving your dog behind? Well, you can bring your pup along! Many hotels such as Best Western, Four Seasons, and Days Inn allow your pets to stay with you. With each hotel, there will be different restrictions and fees for some. Plan in advance. Don’t forget about Airbnb where you can find a home that allows pets as well! Find the right overnight stay for you and your pup and have an amazing time.

QUALITY TIME

No matter what you decide on doing, just spending time with your dog is priceless. Your dog will love just spending the day with you, whether it’s doing any of these activities, going on a drive, playing fetch, or just having a lazy day together. Make sure to set aside time for quality time together, and most importantly make memories and have fun!
